GRANDE PRAIRIE, November 10, 2016

Chris Warkentin, Member of Parliament for Grande Prairie–Mackenzie, is calling on

warPeace Country residents to take time out of their day on Friday to pay respect to Canada’s Veterans.

“Remembrance Day is an important day for all Canadians to reflect on the extraordinary sacrifices Canada’s Veterans have made for this country’s freedom,” said Warkentin.

“This occasion allows us the opportunity to reflect on the blessings and the freedoms we enjoy, and to honour the men and women who have fought to preserve them,” Warkentin continued. “We owe veterans of past conflicts, as well as our current military personnel, a great debt of gratitude.”

Every year on November 11th, Canadians pause in a silent moment of remembrance for the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace.

Warkentin will lay a wreath at the Remembrance Day event hosted by the Grande Prairie Legion, which begins at 10:15 at Revolution Place in Grande Prairie.
