Chris Warkentin, Member of Parliament for Grande Prairie – Mackenzie returned to Ottawa this week for the beginning of the fall parliamentary session and to kick of the Conservative “Save Local Business Campaign”.

The Save Local Businesses campaign is a call to action for business operators and employees who will be negatively affected by Justin Trudeau’s tax hikes on local businesses. The new campaign will encourage Canadians to reach out and show their support to local businesses across the country.

“Justin Trudeau’s tax changes will hurt the very people he claims to help,” Warkentin said. “If implemented, these tax changes will devastate the livelihoods of thousands of Peace Country farmers and local businesses. There’s nothing fair about that.”

“I believe that we should encourage local businesses to grow and prosper and create opportunities in our communities,” Warkentin said. “My colleagues and I will fight these changes to protect local businesses in communities across Canada”

“We will continue to work to provide a positive alternative for Canadian taxpayers,” Warkentin said. “We need a government that respects hardworking Canadians who take great risks and make great sacrifices to start and grow local businesses that provide employment for millions of Canadians.”
